Ebay is the most famous auctioning site online, with sites like ebid paling in comparison. Ebay offers a range of options on how items are sold, you can have traditional auction methods of bidding, or 'buy it now', or 'buy it now or best offer'.

I've had some amazing bargains of ebay, but have also heard of some buyers doing some amazingly stupid things! Like one primark dress was sold for at least twice its retail value, even though the listing stated it was from primark.

Feedback ratings allow you to see how reputable a seller is, and you should always be wary of scanners since there are stories of people who think they are buying an XBox, but actually receive a cardboard box with an X written on the side.

As long as you are scam savvy then ebay is a major source of bargains for which i will always be thankful!

Payment methods are determined by the seller, so vary, but I have paid all of my sellers by postal order so far, which seems to be a widely accepted method of payment, as do personal cheques. Some sellers take credit cards, but not all.
